When your client has an issue or a problem that you can help with, you need to be top of mind. Few things in consulting matter more than how memorable you are. So the question is how can you become more memorable? I’m not going to tell you, but if you take this simple quiz I think the answer will be obvious.

Who were the last three winners of the Pulitzer Prize?
Who were the last three winners of the Nobel Prize?
Who won the last three Academy Awards for best actor?
How did you go? Now try these questions.

Who were three people who influenced your life in a positive way?
Who were three people who made you feel special, loved and appreciated?
Who were three people whose company you enjoy?
How did you go? Were these easier? How will you become more memorable in future? Never forget it and your business will thrive!

As a consultant, I used to think I was selling training programs and strategic plans. I was wrong!
It's not training programs:

1. It's higher sales through increased customer focus
2. It's reduced rework, complaints and returns through better communication, pass- offs and coordination
3. It's reduced expenses through increased retention rates and discretionary energy.

It's not strategic plans:

1. It's about more profit through increased focus on what is important
2. It's about saving time through everyone knowing their part
3. It's about reduced waste through everyone rowing in the same direction.

But more importantly, it's about selling YOU. You simply must know how you add value beyond what hundreds of other consultants can add. Otherwise you are a commodity. 
But even more importantly it's about stopping selling and starting giving.

The New York Times/CBS polled a group of people on a question: “What percentage of people do you think are trustworthy?” The answer was 30%.
