Getting started as a consultant can be tough. I know; 24 years ago, on 8/8/1992; I left the safety of a top job in New Zealand’s largest bank to become an independent consultant. My reason was important: I had a calling to help liberate human energy at work. But my application was weak. I had nothing to sell but myself: no profile, no customers, no products and little credibility in the outside market. On top of that, like many consultants I didn’t feel comfortable selling myself.
I quickly realised that those who had a product to sell found it much easier and did much better. People love to buy a product because when they look at the product it is much clearer what they will get and how it will benefit them. My problem was I didn’t have a product.
Over the 24 years I tried many different processes. Some worked and I went with them. Others failed and I dropped them like hot bricks. Over the years, through sometimes painful experiences, I gradually became known for my expertise in breaking down silos, improving communication and getting people working together across the organisation.
It is this expertise that I have carefully packaged into a Product and made available for less experienced consultants, managers, OD experts and HR professionals who want to make a difference to organisations but don’t have 24 years to develop a product of their own; or the considerable resources required.
The Product is called Cracking Great Leaders Program. There are 23 Modules of learning available in it. Each Module is designed to provide all you need to run a successful half-day workshop.
